The role
We're hiring someone to support our data team and help turn our insights into actionable data.
Data already sits behind some of our most valuable work, from the Knox Index to research-heavy client projects. Now we want to take that further and are looking for someone to help take it further.
You'll use AI-assisted workflows to move faster, then turn the results into clear, presentable material for clients, prospects and our own team. Not just raw numbers.
At Knox, we value the hardest-working person in the room: someone who owns their work, sees a challenge as a chance to learn and improve. Mistakes are part of that, and we’d rather you tried something bold and learned from it than played it safe.
What you'll be working on
- Supporting research-heavy client projects, digging into datasets to find the bit worth talking about
- Bringing new data sources into our internal platforms
- Building web-based charts and visualisations that people can follow without a walkthrough
- Keeping the Knox Index running: collecting, updating and checking the data behind it
- Using AI tools like Claude to speed up the repetitive parts and build tools that last
- Turning insights into decks, briefings and posts for clients, prospects and the team
- Helping generate leads by turning a strong insight into outreach
About you
You may be early in your career or you've been doing this for a few years. The role is flexible and dependent on experience. More experienced candidates will be expected to take greater ownership and help shape how we work with data.
- You've worked hands-on with data, whether in a job, at university or on your own projects
- You have some familiarity with data warehousing or database tools (Firestore, Supabase, BigQuery or similar), SQL, or data visualisations (Looker, Tableau, Power BI or similar).
- You have experience with Dagster, Zapier, Make or other automation tools to connect and blend data together.
- You've used AI tools to build, analyse or automate something, and can tell us what worked and what didn't
- You can explain what a dataset says to someone who has no interest in how you got there
- You check your own work before anyone else sees it
- You're easy to work with, whether that's a client, a colleague or a freelancer
Nice to have
- An interest in politics or current affairs
- An awareness of marketing and digital marketing, and how to connect data to wider campaign activity.
- Experience working in an agency environment
The particulars
- Salary: competitive, based on experience
- Start date: as soon as possible
- Reports to: senior leadership at Knox Digital
How to apply
Send us your CV and cover letter including a few lines on a dataset you think would be useful to a UK campaign, and why it's interesting. After that, the process looks like this:
- Initial call: an informal chat with a Knox Digital Manager about your experience and the role
- Data task: we'll give you a large dataset and ask you to pull out what's interesting in it.
- Final interview: with our CEO or Director, covering the role, how you like to work and where you could take it
